Who are SynchroNet Intermodal Services’ (SIS) customers?
SIS targets include wholesale intermodal customers such as Intermodal Marketing Companies (IMCs), brokers, third party logistics companies (3PLs), shipping lines along with traders and leasing companies. We do not work directly with Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs).
What geographic areas does SIS serve?
All SIS services are currently available in the continental USA and Canada.

How do I request a price quote?
R2R services has access through the SIS website once an Operating Agreement and Credit Application have been approved. User ID and password are provided by SIS.
How do I know where to pick-up and / or terminate containers?
R2R service provides an inventory posting of container yards (CYs) at origin and destination on the website. For West Coast port terminations, your trucker should confirm redelivery details provided on your rail bill 24hrs before in-gating the empty. Location can change daily or weekly.
How long before a booking / release number expires?
With the R2R service, the booking / release valid-through date is indicated on each inventory posting on the website and also within the confirmed booking confirmation. The average duration is three-to-seven business days.
Where do I send my rail billing instructions?

Do you offer 48’ & 53’ containers?
SIS’ focus is the loading of ISO equipment; we offer quality 20’, 40’ (standard and high-cube) and 45’ ISO containers and chassis. These equipment types are accessed through our R2R services.
SIS moves Freight All Kinds (FAK), do you also handle Hazmat and other restricted commodities?
SIS handles hazmat and restricted commodities subject to the railroad’s guidelines and approval. Additional charges are incurred for all hazmat and may be incurred for restricted commodities.
